During the production of the hat, modern technology is used, which enables the processing of wool (felt) into a very fine form, which is then pleasant, soft and smooth .
The complexity of felt production can be characterized mainly by a high number of work operations (80-150), technological variability and a high proportion of perfect handicraft craftsmanship.
Due to their flexibility, the wool fiber hat does not adhere tightly to human skin with its entire surface, which allows you to create another insulating layer of air. In direct contact with the human body, wool gives the impression of warmth and coziness .
Due to its cellular structure, wool is very hygroscopic, ie it has the ability to absorb and retain a large amount of moisture absorbed from the environment, so wool products perfectly absorb human sweat. The wool fiber absorbs moisture weighing 30% of its dry state. Under the same conditions, man-made fibers absorb moisture only to the extent of 5%. The felt hat will remain breathable and will not get cold , even if you sweat during physical activity.
The amount of air contained in the fibers does not change during the use of the products, therefore, due to their flexibility, they are not subject to permanent deformations. The wool hat is very flexible . Single wool fiber, can be bent more than 20,000 times without breaking. Its flexibility and high durability in sheep wool products is resistant to wear, abrasion and tearing.
Sheep, from which sheep's wool is obtained and subsequently processed, are bred all over the world. It can be used indefinitely, so sheep's wool, as a material, can therefore be understood as a natural renewable resource .
Hat cleaning and maintenance
Regularly remove dust from the surface of your hat. The trapped dust dissolved by a drop of water creates a dirty stain that seeps into the felt and is difficult to remove.
A soft horsehair brush is best for cleaning dry hat felt. We do not recommend a regular brush. We always brush in the direction of the hair. If dust stains still form, they can be removed by wiping with a soft cleaning sponge. Wipe the surface in the direction of the hair.
The hat should never be exposed to heavy rain. If this happens and the hat is soaked with rain, straighten the folds, dents or dimples, and if the brim is drooping, flip it up. Flip the leather or textile sweatband out of the hat. Place the hat on a flat, clean surface and let it air dry.
Do not wear a deformed hat. Pressure on any part of the soaked hat can create stains that will not appear until the hat is dry. If your scalp or hair sweats under your hat, unfold the sweatband from the hat and wait for the sweating and grease to dry out and the hat to dry inside, otherwise the smell of sweat will remain in the hat.
Never leave the hat on the brim, especially if it is damp and heavy. The weight of the hat can cause the edges to curl. Flip up the brim of the hat when placing it on a table, in a compartment, or in a box. When placing the hat on the shelf, fold the edge of the hat over the edge of the shelf.
With regular treatment, you will have long-term pleasure from wearing your hat.
